Dean Albro has lived in Lompoc since junior high, and is a graduate of Lompoc High School.
Dean has worked for the City of Lompoc since 2012. First, Dean was employed as an accounting supervisor, then as an accounting and revenue manager, and for the last several years as management services director before being appointed city manager in 2021.
Prior to his service with the city, Dean spent 21 years working in accounting for the Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons in Lompoc.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of La Verne.
Dean has been married to his wife, Karen, for more than 30 years, and they share two adult children.
Dean is happy about where the City of Lompoc is heading, and is honored to play a role in the city’s continuing journey.
“I’m proud to give back to our Lompoc community that means so much to me, and to be a part of the forward momentum our city is experiencing,” Dean said. “A lot of exciting changes are happening. For public safety. For parks. For public works. We have wonderful city staff here in Lompoc, and that’s a big part of what makes the position of city manager so appealing to me. We have a talented group of people working for the city, and together we will continue the progress the citizens of this city well deserve.”
