Water Softening

Edu-01Chapter 13.16 of the City of Lompoc Municipal Code prohibits the discharge of waste generated by self-regenerating water softeners and similar devices. Please contact the Wastewater Division, 805-736-5083, or wwtp-info@ci.lompoc.ca.us, to see what water softening options are acceptable.

Food Service Establishments

Edu-02The City of Lompoc has developed Best Management Practices (BMPs) to reduce the amount of Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) discharged into the City’s sanitary sewer. The City also has an approved Sanitary Sewer Management Plan (SSMP).

Industrial/Commercial

Edu-03Industrial and Commercial facilities may be required to obtain a Wastewater Discharge Permit. Please contact the City of Lompoc, Wastewater Division, 805-736-5083, or wwtp-info@ci.lompoc.ca.us, to find out what requirements apply to your business.

Wastewater Construction Specifications and Building Requirements

Edu-04The City of Lompoc has developed Wastewater Construction Specifications and building requirements for new and existing construction.

Wineries

Edu-05The City of Lompoc has developed Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the winery industry. In the future, wineries may be required to obtain a General Wastewater Discharge Permit.

Pharmaceutical and Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal

Edu-06Residents of the Lompoc, including Mesa Oaks, Mission Hills, and Vandenberg Village, are eligible to use the City’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility located at 1585 North V Street. Please call 805-875-8027, to make an appointment. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department also accepts unwanted pharmaceuticals; call 805-737-7737.

Dental

Edu-07Currently the City of Lompoc does not require amalgam separators to be installed at dental facilities. However, amalgam separators are a not only a good idea, but may be required in the future.

Seminars

Edu-08The City of Lompoc offers educational seminars on the environmental benefits of implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) in restaurants, wineries, automotive and other industries.
