The Lompoc Public Library is currently engaged in a Call for Artists for consideration as an exhibitor in the Lompoc Library’s Grossman Gallery, a room of 53’x26’ proportion, located at 501 E. North Avenue and a smaller continuation show subsequent month(s) at the Village Library, located in Vandenberg Village at 3755 Constellation Road, with an art exhibit wall space of 15’. Central Coast artists must provide a representative body of work of at least six exhibit-ready pieces to be considered for technique, expression and stylish achievement. The review will be performed by the Lompoc Library’s Art Advisory Committee at its meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
Central Coast artists wishing to have their work reviewed should deliver the six (6) exhibit-ready (framed/finished) pieces to the Grossman Gallery between 4:00-4:45 PM on Thursday, September 19, and pick them up after the Committee meeting ends at approximately 5:45 PM. The selection process will encompass an exhibition schedule for 2025 with normal exhibit time of one-to-two months. The Art Advisory Committee will seek a balanced selection of media for exhibition. The exhibit, including two-dimensional painting, photography, and mixed media, must be able to be hung on a wall as long as it doesn’t protrude more than 6” from the wall surface. One and two person shows welcome. Artists must be a minimum age of 18 years; possible exceptions would be at the Art Advisory Committee’s discretion.
The mission of the Art Advisory Committee is to bring quality art to the community. Santa Barbara County artists and others from the Central Coast are encouraged to submit their work for review.
