Lompoc Mayor Jenelle Osborne will be lighting the Christmas tree in Centennial Park at 5 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 4.
The community is asked to view the tree lighting from the safety and comfort of their homes due to COVID-19 restrictions. The tree lighting will be a Facebook live event on the City of Lompoc’s Facebook page. Mayor Osborne will also be delivering a special holiday message to the Lompoc community.
The City of Lompoc’s TAP TV crew will be on hand, video recording the event for the city’s YouTube channel and city website.
Decoration of the tree was carried out by the City of Lompoc Urban Forestry Division, and the remainder of Centennial Park was decorated by the city’s parks division.
The tree lighting typically takes place as part of the Lompoc Valley Children’s Christmas Season Parade, which has been canceled this year due to COVID-19.
