The City of Lompoc is applying for funding to design and construct a new community and skate park at College Park, and is seeking the public’s input on the project.

The city is applying for grant funding for the College Park project through state Proposition 68, the Parks and Water Bond Act of 2018. In order to ensure the project best meet the needs of those using the park, the City of Lompoc is holding a series of five community meetings, four via Zoom and one safely on site, to gather valuable input from the public.

Designers have incorporated input from the public thus far in the process to create two College Park design options that the public is invited to review. The community is encouraged to participate in a survey to provide feedback on these two design options, available for review at: College Park Construction Project. Both proposed designs increase the size of the skatepark area from the current 9,500 square feet to 14,000 square feet.

Attendance is encouraged at upcoming virtual meetings, as the designs and survey will be discussed.

The remaining upcoming community meetings are scheduled as follows:

 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 via Zoom

 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 via Zoom
