Lompoc Public Library in conjunction with California Poets in the Schools, Northern Santa Barbara County will present a bi-weekly poetry writing workshop for youth aged 9 and up on Saturdays starting January 12, 2019, and lasting through March 23, 2019, from 2 pm to 3 pm in the Grossman Gallery. The workshop, taught by poet-teacher Michelle Pittenger, will introduce the work of Cal Poets to North county students and parents.

Cal Poets has been bringing the excitement and pleasure of composing poetry, playing with language, and envisioning new worlds to students in public schools, libraries, Boys and Girls Clubs and other settings since the 1960s.

Participants will play with a variety of poetic forms and subject matters and will take away a printed book of their own work at the end of the workshop.
