The City of Lompoc is thrilled to announce the grand opening of the new playground and exercise equipment at Pioneer Park.
The community is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2 to celebrate this exciting enhancement to our community space.
The event will be a kick-off celebration of Parks and Recreation Month in July. This year’s theme – “Where You Belong” – celebrates the many ways park and recreation professionals across the country foster a sense of belonging in their community by providing welcoming and inclusive programs, essential services for all ages and abilities, and safe, accessible spaces to build meaningful connections. The event will feature remarks from city officials and community leaders, followed by the official ribbon-cutting and an opportunity to explore the new amenities. The improvements at Pioneer Park include:
• Inclusive playground: Designed for children of all ages and abilities, featuring safe, durable, and engaging play structures. A PlayCore triple national demonstration site.
• Outdoor exercise equipment: Accessible and easy-to-use fitness stations for community members to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
